November Newsletter SBAA 2015

Board meeting
The next Board meeting will be held on Thursday, December 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the South Country Library. If any member wishes to address the Board they may do so at that time.

Fall Harvest Exhibit
The SBAA is proud to announce a new exhibit opportunity called the "Fall Harvest Exhibit" which will be held at the Community Center from Monday, November 16 thru Saturday, November 21. The reception will be on Friday, November 20 from 7 to 9 p.m.

Entries/Eligibilty: There will be no entry fee for SBAA members in good standing. 
    This an open show with no specific theme. 
    All mediums will be accepted. 
    Each artist will be allowed two pieces. You may bring a third piece to the drop-off but acceptance will be based on size/space availability.
    Works may not exceed 24" x 36" and must be suitably framed and wired for hanging, no “saw-tooth” hangers or similar types of hanging devices. Unframed canvases with exposed staples will not be accepted. No wet works.
    If the base of a sculpture exceeds 12” x 12” and requires a pedestal, the artist must supply the pedestal at check-in. 
SBAA reserves the right to refuse any work due to space limitations or as deemed unacceptable for any reason by the Receiving Committee.

Drop-off: Sunday, November 15 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Community Center (4 Bell St., Bellport). If you'd like to become an SBAA member or renew your membership, you may do so at drop-off.
Sales: Entries must be offered for sale and the price will be listed on the entry form. Sales cannot happen on premise but prices will appear in the exhibition catalog. Artwork sold may not be removed during the exhibit. The SBAA will not assess a commission on any works sold during this exhibit.
Pick-up: Sunday, November 22 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Community Center (4 Bell St., Bellport). All work must be picked up at this time. If you cannot do so, please fill out a proxy form at drop-off.
Volunteers: We are looking for sitters. We are hoping to have the exhibit open from Monday, November 16 thru Saturday, November 21 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily but will need your help to do so!

Artist Opportunity
The Greater Patchogue Chamber of Commerce, Inc. is currently looking for artists to create portraits for customers during their Shop Local events. Artists are needed for Saturday, November 28 and/or Saturday, December 12 from 1 to 5 p.m. Artists may stay for any length of time that they desire and may charge the customers reasonable prices. All artists involved will be promoted through the Chamber website and will be added to promotional material.
