About Our Juror
(From the Hofstra website):

Beth E. Levinthal is director of the Hofstra University Museum. Prior to assuming her position at Hofstra in 2006, she served as executive director of the Heckscher Museum of Art in Huntington, Long Island, New York, from 2001 to 2006.
From 1987 to 1994, Ms. Levinthal was an art educator, editor of an arts publication, and public programs coordinator at the Art League of Long Island. In 1994 she joined the staff of the Heckscher Museum of Art, subsequently being named director of education and public programs in 1996. During her tenure, she introduced numerous interdisciplinary and multicultural programs for children, families and adults, greatly increasing annual program attendance and outreach to the Long Island community. Highlights of her many contributions to the Heckscher Museum include “Discovering Art Together” programs for families; a junior docent program for fifth graders; a high school docent program; “Long Island’s Best: Young Artists at the Heckscher,” an annual exhibition opportunity for high school art students; and “Heckscher Hits the Road,” a program for adults in senior living facilities, hospitals and nursing homes.
Among other affiliations, she is a founding member and secretary of the board of directors of the Long Island Arts Alliance (LIAA), and a peer reviewer for the Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS). She served as a member of the board of directors for the Museum Association of New York (MANY) from 2002 to 2005.
Among Ms. Levinthal’s awards and honors, she was the 1996 Malcolm Arth Fellow of the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums, and in 2005, she was honored by Hofstra University with a George M. Estabrook Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2006 she was named a Woman of Distinction by Distinction magazine.

From Diana Berthold:
Come see "EQUINE EXTRAVAGANZA & OTHER THINGS" at the Garden City Public Library 60 7th street Garden City NY 11530 across from the Garden City Hotel and adjoins the Garden City LIRR Station Parking Lot. A display case with over 20 items including Horse Show Ribbon Pillows & Banner Quilts along with a variety of oil paintings as well as 17 original oils and acrylics in their lower gallery. This show began travelling in July 2103 and runs thru December 2105 in libraries every month all over Long Island. Every show is a little different so come see it. I have not planned a reception for each of these shows as it would be 24 parties to plan along with the commission work that I am always working on. I plan one every couple of shows and this one I did not. Enjoy!
