Classes and workshops contained in this catalogue will be available provided the minimum registration requirement is met. Most classes will run with a minimum of 6 participants.

Portrait and Oil Painting from Photos
Artist/Instructor: Brian Bartley Monday evenings: 6 to 8 pm

Students will create an oil portrait of their choice using a color photo with a black and white
copy. We will go from primed canvas to finished piece using Brian's method of painting.

Join us and work on developing your painting skills. Emphasis will be on developing your drawing and painting skills utilizing water media or acrylics. Class will be limited in size allowing for individual attention. Work at your own pace on your own work. A supply list will also be provided.
Pastels, Drawing and Sketching

This time honored media is essential to any artist’s education. Class will cover the many types of papers and techniques surrounding Charcoal and Pencil rendering. Still Life subjects will be available and if possible a portrait sitting. The art of the “Quick Sketch” will be explored as well as many other drawing exercises. Students will leave the class with a better understanding and appreciation for creating in black and white.
The course will also explore the Pastel medium which also relies on strong drawing skills. The student will learn how to utilize strong value using color, while being introduced to a truly stimulating medium! Experienced Pastelists will find this class enlightening as well to sharpen their skills and maybe learn

In the studio environment a small group of students will benefit from my group and individual instruction while experiencing great art talk and critiquing with other artists. In this setting the student experiences great “Art Experience” at an affordable rate.
Printmaking Series

The four sessions in this series will begin with Monotype/Monoprint Printmaking, Relief Printmaking, Color Reduction and finally Solarplate Etching. This course is designed to introduce students to the history and application of these general printmaking techniques. It is intended for beginners as well as those who wish to develop their printmaking skills. Seating is limited to allow for access to the press and sink. Register early!

Have fun while developing and expanding your watercolor skills. We will focus on painting bold and colorful watercolors. Emphasis will be on developing our drawing and painting skills and being creative by allowing the watercolor to do the work for us. Demonstrations will take place at each class. We will paint floral, nature scenes and wild life subject matter from photographs. Successful elements of composition will be taught. Previous watercolor knowledge will be helpful but not necessary.
Fused Glass Workshop

Your curiosity about how glass pieces are made is satisfied. Come learn how simple it is!

An Evening of Painting for Pleasure Spring 2013

This “Painting for Pleasure” event is all about a relaxing night out. Create your own Masterpiece...no experience necessary. I will instruct you and a group of your friends, step by step, in the painting process until you each have a completed painting. This is a BYOB and wine event, where you can kick back, relax and let your creative spirit shine!! The $40 per person covers all art materials, and you supply the refreshments.
